A Couple of Thoughts on Politics

- It's incredible how incompetent Caroline Kennedy sounds in her interviews. And yet with the New York Times and most of the rest of the liberal media painting a glowing portrait of her, a stark double standard is being revealed. This is the same media thats smashed Sarah Palin for two months leading up to the election. I'm not Palin's biggest fan, but at least the woman could put together a coherent argument for why McCain should have been elected and why she should have been the vice president. Kennedy can't say two words without saying "you know", and she can't complete a good argument for why she should be Hillary Clinton's replacement in the Senate. She is being given a free pass because of the family she comes from and because of her politics. Palin meanwhile doesn't come from a rich family and is a self-made woman. The fact that she isn't liberal and shows independence in that regard doesn't interest the elite media.

- Global warming will never die. We've got Ted Turner predicting widespread cannabilism in the near future. We've got a prediction of giant anacondas being present all around North America in the near future. And apparently, the Loch Ness Monster has died. The culprit of all these? You guessed it. America's latest hysterical crusade known as global warming or "climate change". People don't seem to notice that 2008 has been one of the coldest years on average in quite some time and that more scientists are pointing toward a worldwide cooling trend. Oh and hell, how could this whole ordeal be complete without these freaking polar bear commercials? Look, I think polar bears are cute too, but does it matter to anyone that the overwhelming majority of species that have ever lived on Earth cease to exist? And a lot of it was due to climate change beyond human control. What makes the polar bears and pandas more important than those species? We will run out of food and suffer from water pollution long before it becomes too hot for us to live here; I can promise you that. All these billions of dollars being spent on a theory could at least be put to use on things such as cleaner drinking water among others. But there's no money or political gain to be made off of that. Global warming provides plenty of political and money incentives. So expect this crap to be around quite a while.
